Advice for Freelancers Attempting NaNoWriMo
You haven't been hearing from me as much lately and part (but only a small part) of my excuse is that I'm taking part in two creative writing challenges this month. NaNoWriMo happens to be one of them, but it's also the one I almost definitely will not win, at least according the rules. However, the fact that I'm accomplishing any personal writing with everything else I have on my plate these days makes me a winner in my own eyes.
If you're joining me in the NaNo craziness, you might find this article useful: How to Write a Great Novel. Please note that while I haven't yet found the time to read it myself, I welcome comments.

I'm impressed that you've taken on two contests at once. That's Iron Woman status!
I don't expect to win NaNoWriMo either but it's my first time doing it and it has finally got me to sit down and write a novel that's been in my head for a while. I've already written the longest piece of fiction I've ever written so anything I add to it makes me a winner now.
I do NaNo every year and have been a Municipal Liaison (ML) since 2005. I won in 2006 and 2008 and expect to win again this year. :)
NaNo is so much fun, and I love the opportunity the in-person events give me to meet new people and make new friends (a must as we moved this past spring and I still don't know many people). Being the one who organizes events and cheers on other local participants is definitely a bonus!
My goal is to have fun and to make that 50,000 words.
Editing is for March. ;)
You go girl. I an doing NaNo too and I'm not going to win, though I've already written 62,000 words...Just had to get the shit outta my head to make room for new and improved ah..well stuff
??
You do realize that the goal is 50,000 words, right?
If you've hit that, you've won, regardless of whether or not you make your personal goal. :)
